Spring U5 2009 information
U5 Boys and Girls rules and information
The U5 division is played in a jamboree method of soccer. All the boys and girls (field 4) will meet at designated field at 10:30 on Saturday mornings. This is a change from previous seasons, this starts with the fall 2008/spring2009 season. The coach in charge will organize the other coaches and have the fields set up prior to 10:30. The coach in charge could use help with this task, if this is something that you could help with please contact us at
aysoregion74@att.net.
Once the fields are set up and assistant coaches are set, the boys and girls will be divided up into groups of 4-6 and each assistant coach will take a group and work with them in certain skills and drills which have been determined by the lead coach. They will work on these skills for about 20 minutes with several water breaks during this time. At about 11:00 the players will be broken into groups of 4 or so by color. Before the season started each player will be given a uniform (shirt, short, socks) in one of the two colors available.
On each field the players will play a 3 on 3. Each week the groups of players playing together will change.
The games of 3 on 3 will be played for about 20-25 minutes with plenty of water breaks.
At the end of the game (around 11:30) all of the nets and cones need to picked up. Please consider helping out with this task.
If you would like to be one of the coaches we ask you to show up to the complex about 10:00 to help set up the fields and be ready to roll by 10:30.
Games are played girls vs girls and boys vs boys
We do ask that once in the fall and once in the spring the U5 parents help out in the concession stand. You must be 14 or over to work in the concession stand.
You would work from about 10:15 to about 12:15
The uniform given to each player will consist of shirt, shorts, and socks. The only other thing that is a must are shin guards. Each player must wear shin guards when playing soccer. Cleats or regular tennis shoes are fine to play in.
